We met in a coffee bar in Great Bridge 1965.

Arthur was with the Incas. Over the next three years he played in several bands.
Our first ever gig as a duo was in a pub called The Union Cross, Oldbury Road, Greets Green.1968.
I was persuaded to get up & sing a couple of songs. Arthur played guitar while sitting behind a kit of drums. He began to play the bass drum along with the hi-hat just to keep the tempo. It seemed to go quite well & at the end of the night the landlord asked if we would like to do every Saturday. We got a fee of £3.
Arthur had a "proper job" at this time, working at a furnishing company in Dudley. One of his work colleagues came up with the name Bi-Set. It seemed as good a name as any at the time. ( Bi: two, Set: people grouped or belonging together ).
After a few weeks we decided to get some business cards printed. We started to get a few regular gigs & in September 1969 turned professional.

Entered competion for M&B brewery & from that we got regular work on the pub & club circuit all around the Midlands area during the '70's sometimes doing as many as 10 shows a week by doubling on friday/sat & sundays
We gigged extensively throughout the UK doing Cabaret/Theatre venues plus worked for the British forces bases both UK & Germany.
In between tours we worked as supporting artistes on TV programmes.
